Ski & Snowboard Day-Trip to Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton

Not a fan of winter? Take up skiing or snowboarding and you will be! And when you’ve got friends that do it too…well then, even better. 🙂

Blue Mountain Resort is less than an hour away, offering skiing and snowboarding, snow-tubing, ski and snowboard lessons, a lively “Slopeside” restaurant at the Summit, and another eatery at the base of the mountain. Been there more times than you can count? Great! Then you can save yourself a few seconds of reading and skip ahead to the next paragraph. If you’re still here, then we want you to know that while all of these activities and options are available on the same mountain, unfortunately, they are not necessarily interactive or easily accessible to each other. In other words, when you are snow-tubing, you won’t be doing it alongside any skiers. Additionally, you can’t visit the Slopeside Restaurant at the Summit without riding the chairlift or driving from the bottom of the mountain to the top. And, if you’re taking a snowboard lesson for example, you’ll be spending most of that time in a designated learners’ area at the base of the mountain until you’re ready to take the chairlift to the top. We share all of this with you so that if you are interested but it’s your first time at a ski slope, you’ll have a better idea of what to expect. Check out the Blue Mountain Resort website for pricing, a trail map, and to check out some live images via their mountain cams.

A few of us are planning to head up to Blue on Thursday, February 21 for a daytrip, anywhere from 10:30am-ish to 4:00pm-ish, with 4-hour lift tickets. If this date doesn’t work for you, no worries, we’ll be looking at another day in March. Text Marie Perry at 610-587-2136 if you’d like to join us next Thursday. Otherwise, we’ll reach out with another email soon regarding the next trip.
