Interested in a LifeWay Womens Simulcast “Pink Impact”-Type Event?

Have I got your attention? Great!! However, it’s not really “Pink Impact”, but what it is is a simulcast event with women and worship offered by LifeWay.

Your next question might be, “But who is speaking/teaching?” Well, how about Lisa Harper? If you aren’t familiar with her, check her out here during at talk at Elevation Church. She will have your stomach aching from laughter and your heart full with the love of Christ.

So here are the details: the simulcast already ran live on April 17th, but we will replay a stream on 12th. It would be a mostly all-day type event (for example, something like 9:00am – 6:00pm). In the past, Inspired Sisters & Zion’s Church have offered these events for a ticket price between $5 and $30. Generally that would cover meals and costs associated with purchasing and planning the event. It’s safe to say that if there will be a ticket price, it will stay within that range. Keep your eye on the facebook page for more details forthcoming.

Visit Lifeway.com to preview a highlight-video of the event as well as speakers and their bios.

I am blessed and honored for the opportunity to offer and plan this event to share with you and grow our faith in Jesus. That said, I would REALLY appreciate your commitment if you are interested in attending. Please let me know by either replying to this email or on Facebook. I’d like to have at least 10 ladies commit, but there is certainly room for many times more than that! 😉 And the event would of course be open to women outside of Zion’s Church as well. Regarding Covid, there may be some guidelines at the Journey Cafe, but if we wind up to be a smaller group, it may be better to host at another appropriate venue.

Hope you’re excited! Let me know!

Welcome, Inspired Sister!

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” – Hebrews 10:24

Since surrendering my life to Jesus, He’s blessed me with numerous opportunities to step out of my comfort zone and be purposeful in Him and for Him.  So in what’s been done for me, I am inspired to do the same for other women and with other women.

Inspired Sisters is a ministry of women who strive to be what we are called to be in Jesus, while spurring our sisters on to do the same.  We believe that as we are saved in Christ, we are also called to be more than what we can be alone.  A cord of three is hard to break – we want to be a community of women who pour inward and outward to empower their sisters…a community of women who inspire each other.

During various times throughout the year, we’ve run events and activities listed below. If you are interested in any of these, please reach out to us, and we’ll let you know if it’s currently happening, in the works, or upcoming in the calendar ahead.

~ BE HEALED ~ “Surrendering the Secret” post-abortion healing and restoration bible study

Many women hide the facts of their abortions and suffer the consequences of their guilt and shame in isolation. Without question, it can be one of the most traumatic experiences in a woman’s life.  Research indicates that more than 40% of child-bearing age women carry this incredible burden while wearing a smile.  Is that you? Have you been carrying that burden too? Even after being forgiven by Jesus, it was a struggle to forgive myself. Yet, He graciously led me to the place of healing I needed. Come to that place and share your burden with someone who has journeyed through the same and found healing on the other side.

SURRENDERING THE SECRET is an 8-week bible study to heal hurting women and the heartbreak of abortion through honest and interactive bible study, meaningful group experiences, and unique journaling exercises in a confidential, caring community.  If you would like more information, you may contact Marie Perry at 610-587-2136 or Katie Bailey at 484-794-3533, in confidence.

~ BE EMPOWERED ~ through learning and studying God’s Word

Growth in faith comes from many different environments. While spending time alone with God in His Word is important, within a group or relationally is just as important and vital. Group Bible studies provide the opportunities to celebrate life’s victories with others, get needed prayer support, offer encouragement in tough times, and help keep ourselves accountable in our personal growth. They also aid in defining a structured time to focus on topics that address our needs or interests.

~ BE AWAKENED ~ inspirational gatherings, conferences, and retreats for women

What better way to grow in our faith than with leading from women gifted with speaking and worship to teach and inspire us in the Word of God and our purpose in Him!?  Over the years, we’ve been blessed as women are stirred and inspired through simulcasted and hosted events such as…

Pink Impact Simulcasts (women’s conference with gifted speakers and moving     worship), and RePink (a one-day repeat of the “best of” Pink Impact)

CryOut, a gathering of thousands of prayerful women calling out to God in prayer, together, to move in our neighborhoods and nation

• Weekend Women’s Retreat at a local campground, Camp Swatara (we promise you’ll be blessed through the bonding and the laughter!).

• A Worship Night featuring live performance videos, as we learned about the importance of worship while studying and focusing on relevant scriptures.

~ BE ACTIVE ~ lifegroups that get together on a regular basis for fellowship and activity

be-active-sneakerline-with-logo-pink

The Bible says that our bodies are the “temple of the Holy Spirit“.  Along that line, we believe keeping our bodies moving is part of God’s plan for us.  It’s tough to implement that at times, but we found that there’s just something about walking and talking that helps us process life, process what God has been speaking to us, or working out solutions to life’s dilemmas…and even more so when that walk is shared by sisters in Christ. There’s so much encouragement, accountability, revelation and enjoyment in making active times also be social times, so it’s our hope that  we can Be Active, having a meaningful time of spiritual growth as we give our bodies a dose of activity.

We mostly meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month at 9:00am. There’s never a need to RSVP – just put on some active gear and head over.  Each session begins and ends with a group prayer.  The courses are structured so that everyone can go at a pace that is comfortable – 30 minutes out and 30 minutes back. God will always provide a friend for whatever speed you need – walking, running, biking, etc., so join us no matter what ability level you are at.  Babies in strollers are fine company, but we prefer to limit the group to adult women only (out of high school) to foster an atmosphere that is confidential, where women can feel comfortable sharing struggles and getting advice from the others within the group. And conversations should be Godly, honoring, and full of encouragement and wisdom, without gossip.

If there is further interest, we may add new activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding, or a hike up to a local lookout point.  You may contact Marie Perry a 610-587-2136 and mperry@kassay.com for any questions via email or text.

~ BE SOCIAL ~ workshops and get-togethers that encourage sharing and learning

Ever wanted to try glass fusing or sewing a canvas tote?  Perhaps you’ve always wanted to prepare and jar fresh salsa, or perhaps making bread from scratch is more your style. We’ve done these things and more, and we’re always looking for more shared talent and skills.  There’s so many things we can learn or teach together –  either for ourselves and as outreach – and we are all blessed by it in many different ways. What are you good at?  We’d love to learn about it.

And when we’re not offering a workshop of sorts, we make the most of the time together with an opportunity to get to know each other better by joining up to participate in common interests or trying something new – things like bowling and learning how to properly handle firearms.  And we even have a game night to welcome significant others and kids too!

~BE LOVE ~ need-based service groups

Serving through missions is a life-changing endeavor. However, the opportunity to serve outside of our communities (and our homes) from afar doesn’t always present itself for everyone – jobs, kids, appointments… it may be something on your heart but maybe just doesn’t seem possible at this stage in your family life.  But the ability to serve, as Jesus instructs, doesn’t only need to happen in another state or a half a world away. Think of your neighbor… does she need help with her kids or a prepared meal? How about an elderly friend… could she use some groceries, a warm fleece blanket, or a ride to the doctor? Or a widow… maybe she could use a hand with her yard work. Maybe you can make something for someone you don’t even know, like wheelchair bags for the disabled.  Realize that there is indeed a mission field right in front of you!

Au revoir, 2020?

Are you glad to see 2020 come to an end? I’ve heard lots of people say that and I can certainly agree to some extent. Prayers and condolences to any of you who regretfully lost family members or struggled with the sickness or harsh circumstances. Hoping that comfort was found in our Lord. In all circumstances we are to rejoice and give thanks, even when that goes against everything in us. Hopefully though, we can shift our focus and find some beauty in the ash. I hope you can.

So what might the future hold for us in Women’s Ministry in 2021? Well, while there’s still lots of guidelines and regulations to sort through regarding planned gatherings and events, I would like you to be aware of the following upcoming events and activities anyway and we’ll continue to sort the details out as the dates get closer.

According to a study by LifeWay published in November of 2015, “Over 40 percent of women who have had an abortion say they were frequent churchgoers at the time they ended their pregnancies and about a half of them say they kept their abortions hidden from church members.” As Christian women, we may know that Jesus can forgive us, but even knowing Jesus we can still carry the burden of guilt and shame ourselves. Perhaps you are all too familiar with this struggle….I once was. I asked Christ into my heart, yet I was unaware of how to get past the pain and anguish of a messy past. I knew that Jesus loved me, and that God took my sins and put them as far away from himself as the East is from the West, but deep down inside I was at unrest over what I’d done. Yet, how loving our Father is, that through sisters-in-Christ He was able to show me love to help release me from that burden and move into healing. Is this a struggle for you as well? Would you seek the opportunity to let another sister help you through it too? Towards the end of January, a post-abortive healing bible study, “Surrendering The Secret”, will be offered in confidence. If you’re unfamiliar with this study but feel as though God is speaking to you, I’d encourage you to view this trailer: https://youtu.be/QuVt-5kn4yY. Reach out in confidence to myself, Marie Perry at mperry@kassay.com, or to Katie Bailey at secondchron714@verizon.net.

Depending upon how things go, there’s a possibility that we can gather for a bowling night at Berks Lanes. Ironically enough, this was the last group activity our women had together just before Covid restrictions were first put in place! More details will follow, but if you are interested, drop us an email.

I’m hopeful to begin a marriage bible study sometime in March. I was looking forward to leading “Becoming Mrs. Betterhalf” by Holly Furtick, but as it turns out the video portion of the study may not be available. I will be praying as to whether the material (workbook) of the study will suffice without the video. The study is for women only to attend, but there will be homework to help engage our husbands in our study. If the Lord brings any other marriage studies to your mind, please share!

While some things are slowly resembling pre-covid times, we still have a ways to go. And with all the unrest in our country, one of the resolves I can settle into is the hope that God is working. Over the past few months, I’ve been encouraged during a series of live videos of intercessory prayers for our nation. If you feel as though you would like to participate with me, or perhaps feel led to be a part of a “zoom” prayer group for intercessory prayer, I’d be blessed to chat about it with you. Feel free to reach out to me.

Blessings!

Marie ♥

Hey there, Sister! How are you?

It feels like forever since we have been together. Hopefully you’ve been able to return to some kind of normal, whatever that looks like for you. I’m thankful to have seen some of you in church or even through updates in Facebook. I’m looking forward to the time when we can gather again.

So what have you been up to? Though likely in smaller than usual groups, hopefully you’ve been able to get together with a few sisters for a bible study or two, or maybe vacationed with family over this summer. If you’ve been an essential worker, I’m sure things have been even more stressful and crazy for you, so thank you for your time and energy, and as you blessed those around you!

As we approach the fall season and continue on a path towards getting back into the swing of things, I’d like to get your feedback. Perhaps as there are many women who are leery about spending time in groups as there are those longing for fellowship. There is no pressure: if you’re comfortable getting together that’s great, and if you’re not then that’s fine too. Please allow the Lord to direct you to what He wants for you.

Annual Women’s Retreat at Camp Swatara

Providing there aren’t any changes to our current state status regarding Covid, Camp Swatara is happy to welcome us again for our annual retreat. At this time it’s possible that some things may look slightly different, like meals for instance, but regarding our gathering as a group within the lodge I imagine it would be as in the past.

I’ve not yet secured the lodge for this event as I was unsure about the interest with the current climate and events going on, but the dates are still available for us. If you were planning to or looking forward to attending this event, please email me back or comment on our Facebook page or even just text me at 610-587-2136 to let me know. The minimum number of guests we can have in lodge is 10, so I need at least 9 ladies to commit before I can secure the location and plan the event. I would love to have this event – it’s a highlight on my calendar every year since we started.

If you think it would be fun but this if the first time you’re thinking about it, check out some pictures of our Women’s Retreat event from last year, as well as all of our other past events and activities.

.

I’d be glad to hear your thoughts, or if you have ideas about any other kind of get-together that you might be interested in. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Inspired Sisters Activity and Event Highlights & Recaps

We’ve been so blessed at Inspired Sisters – thank you!

It all started back in May of 2013 with our first event, a Pink Impact Simulcast (all the way at the bottom of the page!).  Since then, there’s been lots of opportunities to connect with others and grow in our relationship with Jesus.

♥ MARCH FOR LIFE RALLY in WASHINGTON DC, JANUARY 21, 2022

Blessed by a new friend of another church with a bus and a plan, a few of us at Zion’s were able to check-off a bucket list item and attend the March for Life Rally in Washington DC. The rally began at the National Mall with worship and encouraging words and stories from pro-life speakers like Kirk Cameron, Katie Shaw, Father Mike Schmitz, and local inspiration Toni McFadden, among many others.

♥ WOMEN’S RETREAT WEEKEND at CAMP SWATARA, NOVEMBER 6, 7 AND 8, 2020

It sure was quite a year! Thankfully, God was gracious to offer the opportunity to gather amidst the changes in social gatherings from COVID. We had a blessed time with beautiful weather, many retreat first-timers, and we all enjoyed a bible study and teaching from famed author, Lisa Bevere, our new Godmother!

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S WEAVE A BASKET, FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2019

Ever thought about trying to weave a basket? Well, it actually is easier than you think it would be, thanks to Hammond Basket & Weaving Supplies. It was lots of fun, and we look forward to trying it again some time.

♥ DRIVEN MEN’S MINISTRY & INSPIRED SISTERS WOMEN’S MINISTRY COMEDY & GAME NIGHT, JANUARY 26, 2019

A fun night for all! We kicked off the event with Christian comedian, Tim Hawkins. If you’ve never heard of him, you should! We followed by getting into teams for some fun Minute-to-Win It games like “Cookie Face”, “Tilt-A-Cup”, and more.

♥ BE ACTIVE SUNRISE HIKE: PULPIT ROCK, HAMBURG, JANUARY 12, 2019

Chilly morning?  For sure!!!!  But honestly, if you can get through it and make it to the top, the view and the brisk morning air is sooo worth it…

♥ 3RD ANNUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT AT CAMP SWATARA, NOVEMBER 2 – 4, 2018

Most ladies arrived during the heaviest rainfall of the day, but we were blessed to have a roof over our heads, and a comfy place to be too! Using the “Faithful, Abundant, True: Three Lives Going Deeper Still” curriculum from a conference recorded live in Orlando featuring Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore, most of our time was spent in the Word as we studied and discussed many passages of scripture.  And we were blessed by an improptu worship session led by Mariana on guitar.

The weather was beautiful, allowing for two hikes: one group up to the Rock Pile, and one group up to the Tree House where we took a group picture last year, though unfortunately, an actually tree had taken down the Tree House.  Sunday was a it was a brilliant and brisk morning, perfect for an early hike to the Cross.

We couldn’t have planned a better weekend than the one God blessed us with!

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S MAKE KITCHEN BOA’S AND MINI OVEN MITTS! ZIONS CHURCH FELLOWSHIP HALL, OCTOBER 19, 2018

What’s a kitchen boa? It’s actually a pretty handy item – I’m always trying to tuck a kitchen towel into my pants pocket when I’m cooking, or find a good place to leave it when I need it again, but that never seems to work. The kitchen boa is not only high-style, but high-function too! And since we all need some cute stuff too, the min oven mitts fit the bill.

♥ REPINK! THE JOURNEY CAFE, HAMBURG, OCTOBER 6, 2018

New faces… fun conversations… deep connections!  We were so thankful for all in attendance, all who helped plan and clean-up afterwards, but most importantly that we can gather for such an event in the presence of our Great and Mighty Lord!
A new addition to our super-fun “photobooth” was a super-thrifty “throne” that seemed to bring out the silliness!!! What a joy it was with our sisters!

♥ BE ACTIVE SUNRISE HIKE: PULPIT ROCK, HAMBURG, SEPTEMBER 22, 2018

Nothing like waking up before dawn for a steep hike and renewing sunrise! And besides, once you get back to your car after making completing the trek down, you can hit the couch – GUILT FREE – you’ve certainly got your exercise for the day! An added bonus was the opportunity to check out the inside of one of the observatories that sit just in from the edge of Pulpit Rock – thanks Mr. Telescope guy!  And did we mention that we love when pets join us too?!?!

♥ BE ACTIVE SUNRISE HIKE: PULPIT ROCK, HAMBURG, JUNE 16, 2018

Love the long summer days, but that means a sunrise hike has to start around 4:15am – yes, you read that correctly! Well, it’s certainly worth it, and if you get the chance to hit a hammock later in the morning, it just may be the best nap you’ve had in a while.

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S MAKE HUMMUS! ZIONS CHURCH FELLOWSHIP HALL, MAY 18, 2018

Who could imagine the fun we could have making hummus, and how creative we could be too: pickle hummus anyone? We plugged in our food processors, opened cans of chick peas, and came up with many different ingredient combinations.  Thanks to our lovely host, Jeri Seivert for bringing most of the main ingredients, and for all who sparked their creative juices to try new flavors.

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S GO BOWLING: HEISTER LANES, READING, FEBRUARY 16, 2018

Not much smack talking, just some fun competition.  However, there were some small and simple prizes for Highest Scores (Candy Walton and Kaitlin Dietrich), Lowest Score (Becky Schroeder), and who brought the most amount of friends with her (Stephanie Reichard brought 4 extra).  Congrats to all, and thanks for a fun night, ladies!

♥ WORSHIP DVD/VIDEO NIGHT: THE JOURNEY CAFE, JANUARY 27, 2018

We opened the evening with prayer and a scripture to lead into the first song…

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them. -Deuteronomy 28:12-14
“Let The Heavens Open” – Kari Jobe

We listened to Julie as we worked through 2 Chronicles 20 and how it relates to the importance of worship, then we continued with a verse to reflect upon as an introduction to each song…

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands
. -Isaiah 55:12
“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” -Luke 19:40 (In response to the Parisees asking Jesus to quiet the disciples who were praising loudly.)
So Will I (X Billion Times)” – Bethel Music w/Amanda Cook

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. -1 John 4:18
“No Longer Slaves” Bethel Music w/Jonathan and Melissa Helser

For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.
 -Psalm 52:9
“Even If” – Mercy Me

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
“Great Are You Lord” – Vertical Church w/Jason Ingram

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” -Revelation 4:8-11
“Revelation Song” – Kari Jobe

Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
. -Philippians 2: 6-11
“What A Beautiful Name” – Hillsong w/Brooke Ligertwood

“Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to and God.” -Colossians 3:16

We closed the evening with some personal reflections, and some fellowship time.

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S MAKE! BLANKETS FOR SHUT-INS, FELLOWSHIP HALL, JANUARY 19, 2018

Julie Smith took two of the finished blankets, blessing one friend in a Nursing Home, Jane, and another elderly friend too. Marie Perry blessed 4 friends on the Meals on Wheels route she volunteers for on the 4th Friday of each month: Goldy, from the Peach Street Knitting Mill apartments, Betty on Noble and William on Chestnut Streets in Shoemakersville, and a lovely couple that live on Shoey Road/Main Street.
They were all very appreciative of these gifts, and are thanksful for the ladies who made them!

♥ 2ND ANNUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT, NORTH LODGE AT CAMP SWATARA, BETHEL PA, NOVEMBER 3 -5, 2017

Our 2nd Annual Inspireto Womens Retreat Weekend took place the first weekend of November, and what a beautiful and blessed weekend it was for all.

There was lots of preparation in prayer, in gifts, in scheduling and in anticipation for the Holy Spirit to be among us…

We worshiped, listened, shared, connected, and learned about each other, inspired by enlightened teachings from the Word …

Our Saturday weather was sunny and fairly warm, allowing us to make the best of the beautiful foliage and hiking trails surrounding our camp retreat location…

Sunday morning found us with no power (which meant no coffee!!!!) and gray skies with light rain, but fun and creative friends always make the best of any situation!

We thank everyone for spending the weekend with us.  Many felt for sure that they indeed needed to be there and were so glad they made it, regardless of the enemy’s attempt to keep them from getting there.  We ARE victorious in the Lord, even before the battle begins.  He goes before us to make a way, and to ensure our victory!

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S MAKE! BREAD & BOWS WITH DONNA REBER – NOVEMBER 20TH, 2015

It was like being at a live cooking show for sure.  Donna prepared a batch of bread dough as she gave helpful hints and insights to make it perfect.  Ladies were able to knead some dough that was as “smooth as a babys bottom!”.   She also whipped up a batch of “gluten-free” banana muffins!  Donna had lots of spices and such to prepare our hearts desire for bread – a loaf, or dinner or cinnamon rolls.  While we enjoying the sweet aroma of the breads baking in the oven, she instructed on how to make different types of bows for all kinds of gifts.   We packed a lot into these few hours, and had a super turnout – thanks to all the lovely ladies for joining us and participating!

♥ 2015 REPINK!

While the Pink Impact Simulcast 2-day event is packed with a variety of speakers and worship, RePink does more with less! This event is only for one day, and feels much more intimate. Would you agree?

We began with some photobooth ops, for those who arrived early. A little technical difficulty set us back on time for a bit, but we had no problem returning to schedule. Our first speaker was Tim Ross, and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t think his delivery of a bible story and creative expressions in acting them out isn’t just plain funny! With as much seriousness and respect as he has humor, you just can’t seem to get enough. Certainly he is a blessing!

There was dinner and more photobooth fun. All the Pink “first-timers” got together too for a group shot! Nothing like a little silliness every now and again.

Raffle tickets were flying like crazy for all sorts of things… wearing pink, remembered your lanyard, first time at Pink, been to every Pink…we gave out so many that we just plum ran out! We had lots of winners. Thanks to one of our frequent guests, we were able to raffle off a beautiful hand-knitted pink blanket – awesome!

All the ballots were cast for our Session 2 speaker. It was a tie between Debbie Morris and Blynda Lane right up to the last ballot.

Our final session was with Dr. Caroline Leaf. Pretty amazing stuff. But the best part of the evening, I think, was the sharing and the circle praying at the end. While the entire event is a great time, and so very inspiring, the intimacy and sharing with our sisters there is the very best part.

Thanks to all who attended, all who helped, but most importantly thank you God for providing this event and all it comprises as well as your blessings to make it what it was! Can I get an AMEN!?!!!

♥ GLASS FUSING CLASS IN READING – SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2015

♥ BE SOCIAL: LET’S MAKE! PIEROGIES WITH KAITLIN DIETRICH – SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2015

♥ BE SOCIAL! LET’S MAKE! SALSA WITH JANINE BASHORE – AUGUST 21ST, 2015

What a fun time! On Friday, August 21st, Janine Bashore shared her delicious recipe for fresh, homemade salsa.   We peeled and chopped tomatoes, chopped onions and peppers and jalapenos (while wearing gloves of course!).   While it was all simmering together to perfection, there was time to enjoy some snacks while planning other events like this one.   Once the salsa was ready, there was enough for each person to take 2 jars for themselves  … delicioso!

♥ 2015 PINK IMPACT SIMULCAST

It sounds funny and cliche, but WOW!  2015 was really a great simulcast – Praise God – He’s good and gracious every time!

This was the first time we had full stop/start control, and  that gave us more room to add some fun things to our event and allow fellowships and conversations a little more open time to develop without being abruptly cut short due to a set schedule.  Did you feel the same?

In keeping with our purposeful effort to make every woman feel welcomed and connected, each gift bag contained a new beaded charm to signify her attendance at this years’ 2015 Pink Impact Simulcast.  Each year we try to follow the theme as close as we can – this one came together beautifully, and it just “lights” up that pink sparkly conference lanyard…

The amazing chandelier and ceiling decor created a wonderful atmosphere to also go along with this years’ Pink Impact “Light” theme – so grateful for our decorator’s creativity!

The dining tables were adorned with pink jewels and glass pebbles to catch the light and sparkle, and simple but fun questions were placed to initiate and invite conversations.  One guest even took the time to bless others at the event with her creativity.   She received many compliments from other ladies over her designs!

This year, we added a little fun to the event with a Photobooth.  Ladies were able to adorn themselves with pink glittered mustaches and eyeglass frames,  pink feathered boas and pink flowered leis, white spring bonnets and other festive hats, sparkly pink bead jewelry, tiaras and wands.  What a great way to be silly girls together and create some great memories of this event!

As always, the speakers and messages and music were moving and inspiring.  What a blessing it is to be led in worship by Kari Jobe?!  I am sure that the Lord is smiling over her when she shares her beautifully gifted voice to lead as we sing praises to Him. During Fridays sessions, I was especially moved as she sang the hymn, “It Is Well”.  If you didn’t know, that hymn was written by a man who had just lost his wife and daughters to the sea.  How incredible of a faith one must have to endure such a tragedy yet have his faith become strong enough to write a hymn?  Wow.

Our last session on Saturday closed with Dr. Caroline Leaf.  I’ll let another guests’ quote tell you a bit about her…

a cognitive neuroscientist–she holds a PHD in communication pathology and has done much research in the science of cognition as it relates to thinking, learning, renewing the mind, gifting and potential… her topic related to optimal brain performance such as stress toxic thoughts, male/female brain differences, thinking and learning, controlling our thought lives, wisdom, and how to identify and use ones natural gifts– it was high powered, and very thought provoking— favorite quote “ONLY YOU CAN BE YOU..YOU MAKE A LOUSY SOMEONE ELSE”…. Geodesics are very fascinating !!!

This lady sure took some great notes because I couldn’t have restated that for anyone!  In the message she is referring to, Dr. Leaf also showed us how to renew our minds in the things that are from the enemy; how we should praise God for the bringing the sin to the forefront of our mind, place it in our hands and then on our knees bring it to the foot of the cross.  Praise Him for cleansing our minds of it, so we can return to our “superposition” where we love and praise.  We all participated in this exercise while Kari Jobe and Gateway music filled the room with the song, “Let the Heavens Open”.  It was amazing – you couldn’t deny the presence of the Holy Spirit and the blessings pouring over the room.  Thank you Jesus.

All of the other speakers were well received and enjoyed too.  If you’ve never watched Tim Ross, you should! There were some laughing ladies in the room while he was speaking!  And one quote that resonates with me was made by Blynda Lane, “We can stand on the promises of God because we’ve seen the faithfulness of God.”  :)   Since knowing the Lord, I’ve seen this over and over again.   Trust becomes natural because I know He is for me, not against me!

We’d love for you to share your thoughts or favorites too!  Testimonials are a great way to let others know about opportunities and events.  Your experience can be a seed of God’s love planted in someones heart, bringing them to a place where he might speak to them in a new way!

Thank you, to all who, with a servants heart, were willing to make this happen and be awesome; Thank you to all the ladies who blessed us with their presence; Thank you for all the clean-up help after it was over; and most importantly…Thank you, Almighty Father, for such a time as this, and for your presence in the midst of this event.  We know that you desire praise, and you want fellowship for us which strengthens our bonds to each other as sisters in christ, so we thank you for the opportunity to do just that through an event as this!

♥ 2014 REPINK, NOVEMBER 12, 2014

Thank you to so many lovely ladies for coming out to RePink this past Saturday! What a blessing our church has been given to have the means and ambition to bring Gods’ Word to speak to womens’ hearts in a such a setting as this! We heard some excellent messages – some delivered with conviction, and some on a wave of laughter, but all with power! Over the dinner hour was lots of conversation and cheer, and when the raffle took place?? Well, I will just say that I am overwhelmingly humbled by the turnout. Thank you!

Only one of the sessions we’d heard for the first time, and hopefully it was as powerful to others as I found it to be. And there were others that were always good to hear again and again. We are daughters of the most High King. We have been given the authority to move in His name. Be proud of that heritage ladies! Be courageous in the power of the Word! Be love because you are loved with an unrelenting, unconditional, unaffected love by your Father! Amen to that, sisters!

Thank you all so much for all of your feedback and inspiring words about RePink, and I cannot wait until May!

♥ 2014 PINK IMPACT, MAY 2014

Thank you to all the ladies who made their way to the Pink Impact 2014 Simulcast!  I truly believe that God spoke to us all in different moments over the weekend.  The speakers and the worship were so powerful, so moving.   What an absolute blessing in the love of Christ to learn more in God’s word, and in the fellowship of many lovely women!  Thank you all so much for coming!

Who were your favorite speakers?  Which messages do you feel impacted you the most? I’ve already downloaded two worship songs that blew me away…did you have a favorite or two as well?  I would be hard pressed to say which speaker was my favorite – each was so unique in their own delivery, and while some of them based their teachings on simliar scripture, each of them spoke that truth in an enlightening way.  Tim Ross had me laughing so hard…Charlotte Gambill’s statement (in her English rogue) will keep me grounded with “Row G, Aisle 25″ when I become frustrated with having to take the long way in any process…and Lisa Bevere?  Wow.  I almost fell off my chair a few times as I continued to find myself leaning in towards her more and more as she was speaking!   So powerful!   Did you feel like taking on the world when she was finished speaking?  I did!!

Last year after the Pink Impact 2013 Simulcast, a number of ladies were interested in having t-shirts customized with one of the more impactful messages of the conference.  We all agreed that “Own Your Zone” was the phrase that lit a fire inside each of us.   Was there a message  that you just heard this morning or yesterday that did the same for you?  For me, it was Lisa Bevere’s message about taking up our cross, and that the cross might mean something different to each of us.  What does it look like to you?  I rose to my feet when she said to stand up if Jesus was your savior…what did it mean for you?    I loved her idea of the cross consisting of words and phrases that speak what the cross is to many.  The thought came to me for a cross like that on the front of a shirt and then on the back of the shirt the simple question, “what’s your cross?”, or something like that.   What do you think?

I am so thankful for these past two days – for the simulcast, for everyone who attended, for those who gave their time in helping pull it all together, and for the fellowship over these two days.   I am most thankful to our awesome God, for giving us His Word, His instruction, His love, His power, His grace, His mercy, His love, His forgiveness, Himself in Christ.  Thank the Lord for His anointing on those women who stepped out in faith to fulfill your purpose in women’s ministry, so that they could pour into us and inspire us to do the same to our sisters and brothers and to this world.  Thank you Lord, for giving us your strength and power and weapons to conquer our fears and the enemy!

♥ 2013 PINK & REPINK IMPACT SIMULCASTS

It was a great time – both times!   Lots of women who attended the simulcast in April enjoyed the messages so much that they attended a semi-repeat of the event in November.  Most of the ladies will say that the highlight of the April simulcast event was the “Own Your Zone” teaching given by Charlotte Gambill.  Based on Psalms 24:33-34, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man” we are reminded that we are stewards of all things that God places in our zone, and while the enemy prowls, it is up to us to own that zone and all the God-given provisions in it – our marriage, our children, our friends, our workplaces, our churches, etc.  This message was so inspirational that some of the ladies even got together to make shirts to always remember to “own your zone“!

So we had some cool shirts and a new idea – the Be Love ministry.  Sometimes it’s not possible to go to another place far away to help people.  Yet, we can merely look in our own backyards to fill a need. The Be Love group is open to every woman with a heart for service, happy to step up and be love to anyone in need. It could be in simple ways such as a “card shower” to celebrate a special occasion or offer support during a difficult circumstance, a gardening or clean-up project for a widow or elderly friend, or even working together to accomplish a task for the church. Sound interesting? Are you being called to “do something” but you just don’t know what? Help us make a difference…Be Love! You can find out more about it at the website, inspireto.org/belove and on our Facebook page at Be Love zone. You can also just leave a comment below!

Greetings and blessings, Inspired Sisters!

If you are in a medical or necessary field that requires you to be working at this time, let me first extend a “thank you” for your tireless and loving heart, and in all you are doing for your fellow sisters and brothers. It is greatly appreciated and isn’t going by unnoticed. If you know of something that can be done in aid – sewing face masks, or another item to have that would be of great help, please reach out and give the opportunity to be of some kind of service.

In conjunction with our church and state and government, all of our events or activities are on hold as you probably have already guessed. Pray for those making these tough decisions, and for those who must continue on in any necessary areas.

So how is it going for you?

For those who harbor a good amount of introversion, the time spent at home this past few weeks probably feels like a blessing, but to others? Maybe not so much. It’s hard to wrap our heads around what is going on, isn’t it? It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen, and many of us might be struggling with the current circumstance or welcoming the slow pace. Yet as Christian women, we have a been given so many gifts, and so many opportunities now to lean in on Him to find our strength and resolve, waking each day with both the intention to make the most of the time that He has given us and time allowable for rest and reflection and praise.

So what kinds of things do you do to occupy your down time lately? Anything new? How about a devotional that you’ve found to be a really good read during this time, whether a physical book or online? Share it with us! I’ve just started Lisa Bevere’s “Strong” online devotional this morning. It’s amazing how God always goes before us, unfailingly, to prepare for us the very things we will need when a circumstance arises, and this devotional is no exception to that. If it sounds like something of interest to you, here’s the link to register. The messages are short – just over 15 minutes each day, and they do not require that you purchase the book to follow along.

Another resource I’ve come across is from Group Ministry. It’s filled with links for short devotionals to do with kids of all different ages, and coloring pages for kids and adults: https://www.group.com/category/ministry-resources/free-resources.do

Though social media gets a much-deserved bad rap at times, it truly has been a great way to connect with others lately, and isn’t Zoom great too? If you’re not already, why not start a bible study with a few friends and meet weekly over Zoom or another real-time internet viewer? Text and invite me at 610-587-2136 and I’ll be your first participant!

How about some Random Acts of Kindness bingo? Visit our facebook page and upload your completed bingo pdf! And also in the next few days, you’ll find a daily posting of “isolation questions” to help spark some interactions and conversations… I miss everyone!

So keep on praying for healing and health for our families, our friends, our leaders, our country, and our world. Praise God for these times when we can find new ways to re-connect and get closer to Him.

Blessings!

Coronavirus: Encouragement and Inspired Sisters Event & Activity Updates

What a time we are living in right now… it’s unprecedented. The virus, the overload of information and statistics, and the toilet paper!

In the uncertainty of all the changes to our daily lives and the world itself because of the virus, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and worried. Are you concerned? As Christians, we know that fear has no place in our hearts, but let me share something encouraging that I was reminded of …

Jesus Calms a Storm

On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” -Mark 8:35-41, ESV

In this crazy time, we are in the boat, and Jesus is with us.  And while we are awake and agitated, He is sleeping and restful.  And when we wake Him with our concerns, He reminds us, “Peace! Be Still!   How blessed and thankful we can be for our Savior… a Savior that we can rest in amidst the storms swirling around us. Thank you, lovely Jesus!
