The OCR Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (New CLAIT) is designed to boost candidates' IT confidence. Suitable for IT beginners, it allows candidates to tailor the qualification to suit their own needs.

New CLAIT reflects and builds upon the strengths of RSA CLAIT Stage I, which became the UK's most popular IT qualification. New CLAIT consists of units, which can be entered individually, as part of a nationally recognised IT user award, or in any combination according to the needs of the learner.

Optional units include the popular - the Internet and Computing Core Certification - which is a standards-based certification programme for basic computing and internet literacy. There are 3 units and they provide an excellent springboard for candidates interested in taking the Microsoft Office Specialist tests at Levels 2 and 3. In addition this provides a solid foundation for any candidate who wishes to extend their knowledge and move into the IT Practitioner field.
