Sunrise Hike to Pulpit Rock, Saturday, May 15, 2021
May 15 @ 4:45 am - 7:30 am
What better way to start the Lords day than by rising before the sun? I once read an inspirational book by a popular athlete, and one of many daily goals he set was his personal race to beat the sun up each morning. That sounds like a great idea and a great way to make the most of your day (and your life for that matter), but certainly it is easier said than done. I have to admit that my sweetest slumber can sometimes be early morning just after sunrise, nestled under the covers while the softest sunlight streams in through my bedroom curtains. While super-enjoyable, I suppose too much of that can be a bad thing: the bible reminds us in Proverbs 24:33-34, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest– and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” <3
That said, why not join us for a Sunrise Hike to Pulpit Rock on Saturday morning, May 15th. Since it will be twilight when we set out and we have a time restriction (to beat the sun to the top!), we prefer to take the “road” trail. While it’s an easy trail in terms of footing (general driveway gravel and macadam), please be aware that one area of the hike is very steep. Most times, even us seasoned sunrise hikers stop for a breath, but why not challenge yourself? We encourage you to join us, and will gladly stop for a rest and a breath.
If you plan to join us, please text Marie Perry at 610-587-2136. For security reasons, meet time and location will only be shared within a group text.
Hope to see you there!
